Xbox Live is an online gaming service that lets you play multiplayer Xbox games on the Internet via your Time Warner Cable broadband connection (Road Runner or Earthlink). You can play games with people everywhere. It's like having a couch of friends ready to get their game on.  You can chat with them while you play, no matter where they live. 
You can download new levels and items to keep everything fresh.  It's all about the games.

The list of Xbox games that are compatible with Xbox Live and Road Runner is huge. For the sports fans, imagine going head-to-head over the Internet in NFL Fever 2003, Sega Sports NBA 2K3, MotoGP and Sega Sports NHL 2K3. Not into body checks and 3-point shots? How about body count? Take your favorite action games online, like Unreal Championship, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon and MechAssult. There are many more to choose from. You're also going to have to connect your cable modem to your Xbox. So you'll need an Ethernet cable and maybe some other hardware depending on how fancy you want to get with your home networking.
