Cable in the Classroom and Project View
Educators from the Schenectady School District\'s Project View sat down Tuesday with representatives from the cable network C-SPAN and Time Warner Cable for a partnership called Cable in the Classroom.
The three have teamed up to present a new way of teaching by using cable to connect classrooms to museums and educational facilities across the country.
Dr. John Falco of the Schenectady School District said, \"You\'d be amazed at how quickly students respond. And they\'re involved and engaged in a lesson with someone who is thousands of miles away with this technology.\"
C-SPAN Educational Manager Meg Steele added, \"We don\'t want to tell anyone what to do with C-SPAN, how to teach with C-SPAN, what to use. We want teachers to be the ones to delve into the material and decide how to use it and that\'s really what Project View is about as well.\"
A \"report card\" of the program\'s results will also be completed and shared with the national educational community.
