| | Block purchases One PIN number blocks all pay-per-view purchases and does not block video on the channel. The PIN must be used to activate each purchase. - Press the 'SETTINGS' button twice two bring up the General Settings screen.
- Arrow down to 'Purchase: PIN'
- Press the 'SELECT' button to change the 'Purchase: PIN'
- Enter your current PIN. For first-time PIN settings, the default is 0-0-0-0
- Enter your new PIN. This is a PIN of your choice. We suggest that it should be memorable but personal. Popular PIN numbers are 1-2-3-4 or the last four digits of your social security number; you may want to avoid them.
- Re-enter your PIN number and press the 'A' button to confirm.

- Arrow down to 'Block: PIN' and press the 'SELECT' button

Block by channel NOTE: You must first enable the 'Block: PIN' before you can block channels.- Press the 'SETTINGS' button twice two bring up the General Settings screen.
- Arrow down to 'Block: Channels' and press the 'SELECT' button
- Enter your blocking PIN
- Move the arrow up or down to highlight the channel(s) you desire to block, then press 'SELECT'. Each blocked channel is denoted by a small lock icon and an on-screen listing under "Blocked Channels." Similarly, you can removed blocked channels this way.
- After you have finished, press the 'A' button for 'Accept all block channels'.
- Turning the converter off and switching it back on will automatically activate the channel blocks.
Block by rating NOTE: You must first enable the 'Block: PIN' before you can block by ratings.- Press the 'SETTINGS' button twice two bring up the General Settings screen.
- Arrow down to 'Block: Rating' and press the 'SELECT' button
- Enter your blocking PIN
- Move the arrow up or down to highlight the rating(s) you desire to block, then press 'SELECT'. Each blocked rating is denoted by a small lock icon. Similarly, you can removed blocked ratings this way.
- After you have finished, press the 'A' button for 'Accept all block channels'.
- You'll see an on-screen listing with your "Blocked Ratings"
- Turning the converter off and switching it back on will automatically activate the rating blocks.
(For use by customers with General Instrument converters who do not have digital cable.)
Block purchases - Press the 'MENU' button on your remote.
- Make sure the highlighted area is 'Control Program Viewing'. Press the 'SELECT' button.
- Arrow down four places to the bottom of the menu page 'CHANGE PASSWORD highlighted in white. Again, press 'SELECT'.
- In CHANGE PASSWORD field, arrow down once to CHANGE PURCHASE PASSWORD and press 'SELECT'.
- Key in your four-digit password. Press 'SELECT' to confirm.
- Enter the same four-digit password with your remote. Press 'SELECT' to confirm. You'll be returned to the CHANGE PASSWORD field. Press the 'EXIT' button.
- You have just secured the ordering of pay-per-view in your home.
