Basic Cable-Ready TV Hookup with a Cable Converter
There are TV sets on the market today called "cable-ready." These are capable of receiving most of the channels available with Time Warner Cable without a converter
box. However, if you subscribe to Cinemax, the Disney Channel, Showtime,
CablePlus or any of our multi-channel services, a converter is necessary
to descramble the picture. The same is true in order to take advantage of
pay-per-view service. Using your VCR with your cable television service
is easy; just
follow the setup instructions below:
- Tune your cable television converter to the channel you wish to record.
- Tune your VCR to channel 3.
- The VCR will now record desired channel.
- If you wish to use the timer recorder, set timer for desired times
to be recorded on channel 3 on the VCR. Then leave the converter turned
on, tuned to the channel you wish to record.
NOTE:
- On the back of your VCR is a channel 3/4 switch. This switch should
be set to channel 3.
- The above instructions are the recommended setup procedures for Time
Warner Cable customers with converters. These instructions may vary
from those listed in your VCR manual.
